Brothers (Deluxe Version)-The Black Keys

by ipitydafoo Just buy all.

Along with every other album they've put out.

You won't regret it. If you do this, you need a therapist.

And see them live as soon as you can.

by Señor Grande this album really rocks! But if you all keys fans expect another net smash slam blues-bomb, think again. This record stinks of the FUNK! Oh, but it still has the riffs and the grooves of previous TBK releases. "Brothers" continues the evolution of Dan & Pat because more influences to show and a wider range of emotions to leave to take you through these 55 minutes. Not afraid, that it is more similar to "attack and Release" and maybe even more like the vibe of Dan's solo release "keep it hidden", one of my fav discs last year. Do yourself a big favor and "Brothers" today and then select the meubilairenz you have the room to shake yur butt (and you might just shed a tear or two in the process). by Joseph Standeford someone once wrote, in the review of The Black Keys, that Dan and Pat not playing their instruments as much as they did attack them and save the music. No one goes that on this album or the band. The energy and rawness of their old noise is gone and is replaced by ballads, which they do really well at all, and electronic trance music mixed with tepid blues tinged pop. Not so much refined just pretty boring.
With their older albums were a perfect fit for exploring the old school rock blues circuit. This record belongs in Starbucks sponsored hospital clean art village clubs with well-lit parking lots.
All that and they are still better than most of their contemporaries, they are just not different from the rest of the keys more.
