Apple Mac Chief departs, where large changes come to OS X

Apple SVP of engineering software Mac Betrand Serlet leaves the company, according to a press release published by Apple. It will be replaced by Craig Federighi, VP software engineering Mac Apple. Frederighi by the main responsibility in the Apple was the development of OS X.

Serlet, who joined Apple in 1997 and worked with Steve Jobs at next before that and his key role in the Mac, the manufacturer shall include assistance in the drafting of the preliminary draft and the evolution of Mac OS X, who holds Serlet PhD computer science at the University of Orsay in France, is said to be leaving the business in order to conduct more scientific participation in pursuits. In his own words:

We've worked with Steve 22 years and had a wonderful time for the development of products for the next and Apple, but at this point I want to focus less on the products and more science. Craig has done well managing a team of Mac OS in the past two years, the lion is a great release and the transition should be seamless.

Federighi, which replaces Serlet, also spent during the next with Steve Jobs and joined Apple, too, before leaving for Ariba, commerce companies. He spent 10 years at Ariba, eventually become c, and returned to Apple in 2009 to head OS X engineering efforts. Has a degree of Master of Science in computer science from the University of California.

At departure Serlet comes as Apple continues to move toward the type of account, represented by its iOS platforms mobile. OS X Lion, which is available as a developer preview borrows many features and significant part of his changes in the user interface platform for mobile. In this light, it's easy to think Serlet's departure as a sign that Apple is putting OS X on the bottom of the desktop roots. OS x is essentially Serlet by creating in many ways and has been a focus of his task from the creation of the Apple iPhone and two different OS platforms. Federighi is relative newcomer for OS X, and the benefits of not having been closely involved in the creation of this operating system, leaving him with a broader vision of what can be.

Another option used are related to suggest this is realized, it will be Serlet never see top billing in the company as Ceo of so many other qualified candidates occupying the higher rank of Apple. Exit now may shall give him the opportunity to step into this role in other organizations. This is not very likely, though, taking into account the fact that Serlet has worked with jobs for 22 years and probably had very well with how high you can climb on Apple.

For whatever reason, Serlet exit strongly breaks era in Apple. It could not charge most public companies, but participated in the creation experience Mac Apple-defined approach to processing by more than a decade.
