Sometimes you need to draw diagrams or in my company web development and something Omnigraffle or as Visio for Windows, the good is really can be more than you need. Even web-based tools to draw in the Google or draw a project may be too much.
So I was intrigued shapesby, simple app for creating diagrams for the snow. Shapes was created by the author of the prolific Todd ditchendorf, which is probably the most famous of the fluidfor, a system that allows users to convert sites Web desktop applications.
Shapes interface is quite simple. Just drag the desired shape from the palette on the left and drop it onto the page; can be resized and moved to its own. Colors, fonts, borders, and other attributes may be controlled by changing the variables in the Inspection Panel on the right side. Shapes can be included and excluded from the Panel outline, arranged vertically or horizontally, grouped and move to the foreground or background.
The software contains a reasonable, if fairly small, a collection of shapes. It includes the ability to insert image files and text to your drawing and line tool. For those used to other drawing programs, however, the line tool can be a disappointment, as there is no way to attach lines to other shapes. Says the developer this feature is in the works.
The files are saved in the format shapes, but can be proprietary exported as pictures (jpg, GIF, PNG, TIFF) and PDF files. shapes is available for $ 4.99 in Mac App Store and from the Developer Web site. A trial version is also available from the website.
Shapes not yet offers all the features of diagramming program doing, but its simple interface and ease of use may be appropriate for the needs of the more modest of certain people.
